Jooste Family

Nadia's story was so emotional that I couldn't help but to get teary while she was telling me the story. It was because we almost have the same reason as to why I got into family portrait. The saddest part about Nadia's story was that Andre, her husband booked a family photoshoot but due to Nadia's comitments and job it got pushed aside, until the day Andre suddenly passed away that she regretted it the most. We are so caught up on what's happening right now that we don't see it coming that "time" betrayed us. We always thought that there's always going to be more time spending with our family but in a snap of a finger, they're gone. Photographing Lucas, he is a spitting image of Andre. Nadia also said that Lucas has inherited so much of Andre's personality that when I was photographing them I couldn't help but to think that Andre is with them. It's so comforting to know that we have our family by our side, but when the time comes, I belive that the closest thing being with them would be pictures, and with that I say, take as much pictures as you can with your loved ones for that is the only thing we will have when the unavoidable thing happens.
